Celebrities From Nigeria Respond to Concerns Regarding the 2023 Elections

Several well-known Nigerians, including Harrysong, Simi, Adekunle Gold, and Adesua Etomi, have commented on the potential rigging and tribalism of the 2023 elections.

In a tweet, Adekunle Gold criticized the tribal behavior as being dumb. He identified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the institution that had been the most careless.

Tribalism is a symptom of idiocy, according to singer Simi. She also referred to the election as a fraud, the worst she had ever seen.

Actress Adesua Etomi tweeted her opinion, arguing that tribalism is fundamentally broken in today’s society.

Debo Macaroni, an actor and media personality, denounced the use of violence, intimidation, and election tampering in various parts of the country.

Nigerians cast their ballots for a new president and National Assembly member on Saturday, February 25. Election indicators included the rise of Labour party member Peter Obi as a third force and a rise in voter registration.

The election was peaceful in certain places, despite widespread claims of anomalies, including voter suppression strategies, harassment, intimidation, and the destruction of voting materials.
