The Nigerian Afrobeat legend, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has set a new record in Africa on the Facebook platform.
The award-winning musician is listed as one of the most celebrated music icons in the continent of Africa and beyond. Davido has featured many international artists including African musician Chris Brown.
He was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019.
The Afrobeat legend has broken rank to become the first African artist to be hashtagged on Facebook a million times!.
His new record goes predicts that he could probably be the most popular African artist. Only a few global artists have made it that hallmark of being hashtagged a Million times on the Facebook app.
Davido became a crowd-pleasing face in the Nigerian music industry after he released the hit single, ‘Dami Duro’ in 2012.
He signed a contract with RCA Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music, in July 2016. He released the top-charting singles, If and Fall, in 2017. Both songs were a hit internationally, as Fall was the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.
David founded his record label, DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) in 2016. The label has become a home to music stars including Dremo, Liya, Yonda, and Idowest, Mayorkun, Peruzzi.
