A young lady identified as Rochelle Grace has shared her experience of being a sex worker in a one on one interview with Portia Gabor of TV3.
According to her,she came to Accra to seek for greener pastures but her friends lured her into the prostitution business.
She recalled her first experience when a Nigerian guy locked her in his room and molested her but she had no other option than to continue with the sex work.
She emotionally shared that she has lost everything, her pride and dignity has been lost to the street. The sad thing is, for these long years of prostitution, Rochelle has not been able to make anything decent for herself, she has nothing to boast or brag about.
She even lamented on her rent which will be due in no time and need money to pay.
One interested thing about Rochelle is,even with the kind of work she is involved in,she always pray to God for protection.
She believes her work is risky and she can lose her life anytime that’s why she always have to commit herself into God’s hands before she steps out.
She pleased for assistance from Ghanaians to help her secure a decent job because she wants to stop being a sex worker.
According to her she’s tired. Growing up she wanted to become a Lawyer or a CID but those dreams couldn’t come to pass because she didn’t have the chance.
She urged Ghanaians not to criticize sex workers because some of them have no other option than to go in for that.
