In 2018, Anas sued Ken Agyapong for GH$25,000,000 for defaming him, but the court ruled on Wednesday, March 15, that the case is without merit.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas failed to demonstrate that Kennedy Agyapong defamed him by screening the documentary “Who Watches the Watchman,” according to Justice Eric Baah’s judgment.

The court further determined that Agyapong’s evidence was adequate to establish that the plaintiff had solicited funds from those involved in the evidence he had collected by using the conclusions of his research.

The court ruled that the evidence also showed that people who could afford to pay the amounts asked by Anas and his friends were kept out of the public-viewing recordings.

According to the court, Anas participated in investigative terrorism rather than investigative journalism.

“I find the claims by the plaintiff [Anas Aremeyaw Anas] meritless, and they are hereby dismissed,” Justice Baah ruled.
