Prince Odianosen Okojie, the husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, won the election to represent the Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency of Edo State in the House of Representatives.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Okojie, won the election with 21,764 votes, defeating the candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who collected 10,007 votes and finished in second place, and the Labour Party, who received 11,528 votes.
The results were announced on Sunday by the returning officer for the constituency, Dr. Victor Imade.

After learning of his victory, Mr. Okojie was shown in a video congratulating himself with a crowd of supporters.
He shared the clip on his social media page with a caption that read: “With gratitude to God Almighty, My Family and the support of the good people of AGBAZILO, I was declared the winner of the Election for the Federal House of Representatives. Esan North-East/Esan South-East federal constituency 2023. Thank you for all your support and love. I am sincerely grateful.”
