Atsu and his teammates were celebrating in the dressing room after he scored the late winning goal for Hatayspor against Kasimpasa on February 5, 2023.
His goal helped the team to be elevated from the relegation zone. And gave hope to his coach, Volkan Demirel.

In the video, the players were flattering Christian Atsu as they chant his name “ATSU! ATSU! ATSU!
However, it was reported that, Atsu was supposed to fly to England but cancelled the flight to celebrate with his teammates.

Sadly, Christian Atsu got trapped under rubble following a massive Earthquake in Hatay, Turkey on February 6, 2023.
It took the rescue team more than a week (12 days) to discover Atsu’s lifeless body. Currently the death toll is over 40,000.
