He claimed that the ‘worldly people’ had put in enough effort to merit the prize.

Bulldog was expressing his predictions for the night’s most prestigious award winner.

“I wish she would come back but not this year, maybe at the 34th edition. This year, if you look at what our people in the world have done as in the Stonebwoy’s and Black Sherif have done, we will not allow any gospel artiste to win the Artiste of the Year . The church of the Pentecost, Presby can all join but they will not win against lucifer. Everyone else in the world is with the guy. This is lucifer against God and God understands that we will win” he said.

This is at a time when many individuals have been charging that the gospel fraternity is desperately trying to influence the academy board to ensure a victory.

According to Ghanaian media figure George Nii Armah Quaye, the gospel fraternity was using every effort to influence the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board and academy in favor of a victory.

George claims that whereas performers in other genres are working hard to win over their fans and secure votes, their gospel counterparts are proactively attempting to sway the board.
