Kylian Mbappé is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. He is regarded as one of the best players in the world and is reportedly the highest-paid.

He revealed that he almost quit the France national team after receiving racist abuse following a penalty he missed at Euro 2020.

France, the world champions was kicked out by Switzerland at the round of 16 stages, after Mbappe’s spot-kick was saved by Switzerland’s goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

The French Football Federation president, Noel Le Graet, claimed that Mbappe was thinking about retiring from international football afterward because of the criticisms he received following the crucial penalty miss.

But Mbappe has said it was because of the racial abuse he received after the penalty miss not because he was not supported after his miss.

The 23-year-old wrote: “Yes finally I explained to him (Le Graet) above all that it was in relation to racism, and NOT to the penalty.
