World Cup: France beats Poland To Advance To The Next Stage(Highlights)

By defeating Poland 3-1, France advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals; Olivier Giroud, who scored the opening goal, set a new French men’s goal record.

Five goals have already been scored in Qatar thanks to a second-half double from Kylian Mbappe and a late penalty from Robert Lewandowski of Poland.

Giroud’s first-half goal (44) helped propel Les Bleus to a last-16 triumph in Doha and set up a quarterfinal matchup against either England or Senegal. Giroud’s 52nd goal for France broke Thierry Henry’s record.

Mbappe then gave France breathing space midway through the second half as he fired past Szczesny to make it 2-0 before adding a sublime third in the top corner to deny Poland a first World Cup quarter-final appearance since 1982.
