The world’s richest man Elon Musk has declared his intention to purchase Manchester United, a Premier League superpower.
While discussing political ideologies, Musk ended up tweeting that he is purchasing the struggling team.
He made this revelation known on his official Twitter handle.
He wrote, “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.
Elon Musk made a bit to buy twitter but later aborted the deal which has afforded him a legal battle with the social media giant. It is unclear whether he is joking or he is serious about buying the football club.
Given his estimated net wealth of $260 billion, Musk could easily afford to purchase the Old Trafford team.
Red Devils supporters have been protesting and calling for the Glazer family, the current club owners, to leave since they are no longer at ease with them.
After suffering two humiliating losses in their first two games, Manchester United is currently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League standings.
According to Reuters, the club’s market value was above $2 billion as of this Tuesday’s stock exchange.
Also as of May, Forbes had Manchester United valued at around $4.6 billion dollars, with a revenue of over $633 million in the last year.
The Red Devils would hope to bounce back to winning ways when they face Liverpool in the Premier League on Monday.
